# Salesforce Service Cloud alternative

> A second cloud for your help desk? Sales Cloud includes cases, but the Service Console takes a Service Cloud licence, and on Core and Advanced the customer portal is bought by the login or the member. On PlatformPilot, Tickets is part of the CRM, beside the clients the work is for. Every Salesforce claim on this page links to Salesforce's own pages.

## Two clouds, or one product

What a team of six, three selling and three answering clients, pays Salesforce Core for a CRM and a help desk, billed yearly, before tax.

### On Salesforce

- **Sales Cloud Core**: 3 × $195 = $585
- **Service Cloud Core**: 3 × $195 = $585
- **Plus each portal login, a month**: $4 a login
- **Two clouds**: $1,170 a month

- Sales Cloud includes cases; the Service Console takes a Service Cloud licence.
- A customer portal needs Core or above, bought by the login or the member.
- For projects, Salesforce points to apps on AppExchange.

### On PlatformPilot

- The CRM: people, companies and deals
- Tickets: client work and your own
- The Brain: what your mail and chat say

- Tickets is part of the CRM, on every plan.
- A client's email lands on its ticket, by number or thread.
- A request by email waits for you to accept it.
- A Slack message can become a ticket.
- Sub-tickets go up to 1,000 levels deep.

## Then the licences decide

On Salesforce, what a person can do with a case depends on their licence, and on which cloud and edition the org has.

### $195 a user a month for Service Cloud Core, beside Sales Cloud

“The Service Cloud User feature license entitles users to additional Salesforce features, such as the Service Console.” Service Cloud Core is $195 a user a month, billed yearly. ### $4 a login a month for the customer portal

On Core and Advanced the portal is “Available for purchase”: $4 a login a month, or $10 a member. A login counts once a day, however often a client signs in. Everything else Salesforce counts: [Salesforce limits and Flex Credits](https://platformpilot.ai/compare/salesforce-limits).

## Projects beside the people they're for

Tickets live in the same CRM as your clients, so the work and the relationship are in one place, on one bill.

- **On the client's record**: Every ticket names its client, and the client's page lists its tickets beside its people and deals.
- **Statuses for client work**: To do, In progress, Waiting on client, Done and Cancelled, plus your own.
- **Told where they work**: Assign a ticket and the person hears in PlatformPilot, and in Slack when you connect it.
- **Email on its ticket**: A client's email lands on its ticket by number or thread, and a new request waits for you to accept it.
- **Boards your way**: Work on a board by status, priority or any field you add, or in a table.
- **Automations that ask first**: When a ticket is created or changes, the agent can act, or ask you first.

## Bring your work over

1. **Connect Salesforce over MCP.** Add Salesforce's hosted MCP server to PlatformPilot and sign in, on Core and up. It reaches your records, cases included ([Hosted MCP servers](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/hosted-mcp-servers-overview.html)).
2. **Ask your agent to bring it over.** Contacts, accounts and opportunities become people, companies and deals, and open cases become tickets.
3. **Connect your mail and chat.** Gmail or Outlook, Slack or Teams. From then on, it learns from the work itself.

Salesforce cases don't sync into Tickets: your agent brings the work over once, and you carry on in PlatformPilot.
