## Salesforce sells it by edition

New since September 2026: Core, Advanced and Max, billed yearly. Each unlocks more of the CRM and more Flex Credits for its AI. And holding your own key is Shield, at 20% to 30% of your spend.

Salesforce says every call a registered agent makes, over MCP or the API, “is metered as a Headless Platform Interaction.” The rate isn't set yet, and metering starts after 30 days' notice. ## Switch in three steps

1. **Connect Salesforce over MCP.** On Core and up, add Salesforce's hosted MCP server to PlatformPilot and sign in. Nothing to export.

### Does Salesforce charge for AI?

Core includes 500,000 Flex Credits a year for the whole org, Advanced 1 million and Max 2.75 million. An agent action uses 20, priced at $0.10, and more cost $500 per 100,000 ([Agentforce pricing](https://www.salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing/)). Agentforce for Sales is an add-on from $125 a user a month ([Sales Cloud pricing](https://www.salesforce.com/sales/pricing/)).

### Can Salesforce update records from email?

Activity Capture syncs email and calendar from Starter Suite up. The agent that turns email and calls into field updates is extra on Core and Advanced and included on Max, and by default it only suggests updates ([Sales Cloud pricing](https://www.salesforce.com/sales/pricing/), [Pipeline Management guide](https://www.salesforce.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/documents/resources/Agentforce-for-Sales-Pipeline-Management_-Implementation-Guide.pdf)).

### Is there a free version of Salesforce?

The Free Suite is for up to 2 users ([Free Suite allocations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.overview_limits_free_suite.htm&type=5)), and every edition has a 30-day trial ([Sales Cloud pricing](https://www.salesforce.com/sales/pricing/)).

### How do I move my data from Salesforce?

On Core and up, connect Salesforce's hosted MCP server to PlatformPilot and ask your agent to bring your records over. ### Can I hold my own encryption key in Salesforce?
