### Deactivated? Still billed.

Zoho “charges based on the total number of user licenses purchased for your account,” whether each person is active or not. Deactivating someone doesn't lower the bill: you lower the licence count yourself. ### Your own key? Zoho keeps it.

Zoho CRM's keys are “generated and maintained by our in-house Key Management Service,” and “Only Custom fields can be encrypted,” from Enterprise up. ### Can Zoho CRM update records from email?

Through its Email Parser, on Enterprise and up: an admin highlights the parts of an email template and maps them to fields, for up to 2,000 emails a day per organization ([Email Parser](https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/kb/crm-v2-1/connect-with-customers/email/admin-functions/articles/crm-v2-email-parser)). Zia can suggest an activity from an email, and a person saves it.

### Is there a free version of Zoho CRM?

Yes, for up to 3 users and 5,000 records, without email integration or Zia ([Zoho CRM editions compared](https://www.zoho.com/crm/complete-feature-list.html)). The paid editions have a 15-day trial.

### How do I move my data from Zoho CRM?

Connect Zoho's MCP server to PlatformPilot and ask your agent to bring your modules over: your contacts, accounts and deals come in as people, companies and deals. Nothing to export, and the reads count against your Zoho edition's API limits ([Zoho CRM MCP servers](https://www.zoho.com/crm/developer/docs/mcp/overview.html)).

### Can I hold my own encryption key in Zoho CRM?
